Huge haul of scalps for Rojas. Anyone know the course or conditions? Equates to only to 69 for 1/2

Yes the shoes are having a massive impact. The Washington Post race says Rojas wasn't even tired and was just waiting until the end to pull away.
It also mentions how the men's overall winner Edwin Kimutai (45:45) was grieving the loss of his wife on August 23.

Do go on, exactly how?

I went for a run this morning around 8 am an hour away and it was great. It's hot now (88) but this m orning it was probably 63-64 at race time.
Here is the course elevation
http://www.runkarlarun.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/04/Cherry-Blossom-10-Mile-Run-Elevation.png65 degrees at the start, closer to 70 at the finish.
Basically no wind, which can sometimes be an issue. The course is pretty flat, with just a little elevation change in miles 1-2 and then a final hill ~800m.

Men's Top Ten Results
1. Abbabiya Simbassa 46:18
2. Augustus Maiyo 46:23
3. Reed Fischer 46:59
4. Frank Lara 47:13
5. Shadrack Biwott 47:35
6. Elkanah Kibet 47:39
7. Chris Derrick 47:42
8. John Raneri 47:43
9. Noah Droddy 47:47
10. Brendan Gregg 48:14
Joel Reichow was 6th between Shadrack and Elkanah with a 47:36. Do you not know how copy paste works??? So Brendan Gregg was not in the top 10
@ROJO update the list please
And the results have P. Cheromei as Kenyan, yet this post has her in the top 10 for USATF championship list. S. Sullivan, Bria Wetsch, and Madeline Alm should finish off the 8/9/10 spots. To the other poster, Rogers was 11th American, 15th overall in 55:02.
I'm obviously a lot slower than the elites, but I remember a fairly brutal side/head wind going out on Haines Point (about mile 6-7.5). I think it dropped my pace for up to 20 secs a mile at times (off an average pace of about 7:15).

Agree with this. The wind was pretty brutal and probably slowed me down 10 to 15 seconds.
I thought Hains Point was tame by its usual standards but concede it could’ve been different for others.
A few years ago, the wind was so bad all over the course that they had to remove all signage.

Agreed the wind was a factor, though to clarify only impacted ~2 miles this much and likely helped other miles. Likely a 20ish second impact.

I expected Simpson to impress. I can't figure out what is going on with Rojas. Does she get insane energy return from the shoes?
So the shoes made Nell win today but that burrito Shelby consumed did not? Please continue to minimize legitimately talented athletes performances because they chose to wear the shoes but Shelby Houlihan did not.

IF you could read with comprehension you would know that nobody asserted that the shoes made Nell win. If that was your interpretation of any post in this thread I suggest you hire a reading tutor. I am in no way joking.
Solid result for Simpson in her first roadie.

OK I would like to offer “my bad” here for my post above as somehow I had missed Rojo’s comment about Rojas possibly getting insane energy return from the shoes, which I can see you could reasonably interpret as crediting the shoes for her win. However, I said she was impressive as was Simpson. Rojo does have a valid point about this performance being a bit unexpected from Rojas. However, in a way he is complimenting her for a great result. It does seem the shoes helped her but she must be in great shape too and the shoes presumably help everyone in varying degrees. Again, my error in missing the aforementioned comment.
Weird watching these embedded championships within a road race. The camera was on 2nd and 3rd in the mens race the entire time referrring to them as fighting for the win. Even though they were not actually in the lead. Weird to not even see the winner cross the line.
Wonder how Rupp would have done.
I thought he struggled in the OG marathon and this week-end's 1/2 marathon....but he gutted both out and called upon his strength from all those miles over all those years and his mental toughness.
He did run 45:53 (AR) last October en route to a 1/2 marathon run in 1:00:22.
