You might be able to, but why do that? Why not do 3 days a week for 3 weeks and then add a 4th day for a couple weeks and then up to 5 days a week after that. You've been sedentary up until now, and exercising SHOULD be a lifelong plan for you going forward, so what's the rush?

In the past, I wanted to join XC and they had time limits to meet in tryouts.
