Age 61. Race time was 33:40 for 4 miles. A satisfactory result.
I may celebrate by joining the BroJos executive club, but only if I have $99 in my PayPal account.
At this moment, I am drinking.
28 years old, maybe average 10 beers per week (rarely more than 3 beers in a day)
In the past few years I've run sub 29, sub 14, sub 63, sub 2:15 (this doesn't mean 28:50's, 13:50's 62:50's or 2:14). I don't think drinking alcohol is bad, I think getting drunk is bad. If you just drink one or two beers at a time it has no noticeable negative impacts. I often actually feel better and happier when I drink normally for a non-big race rather than when I purposely stop drinking any alcohol for the last few weeks before a big race.
once per month after a big meet. Probably 10-12 total drinks that night. Doesn't affect me at all
About 30 light beers a week, a little weed as well. 1:29 half. 67 years old.
I drink fake NA beer and I'm slow, but I was never a real runner. Just in it not to get fat.
I don't drink.

I gave up drinking about a year and a half ago. I initially went a few months without even realising I hadn't had alcohol. Then I had a few drinks over Christmas, and I felt absolutely miserable for the rest of the day (and night). I then ran terribly the next day. I realised I didn't even enjoy the drink while I was having it, and so it didn't seem worth it at all anymore.
Now if I feel like a treat I'll just have some ice cream, sweets or a soft drink - they all taste way better anyway (though few will admit it), and they don't have the lingering effect on performance.
Also, I've PR'd at all distances since giving up.
