*UO. Switching the letters is just a weird plains state quirk that the rest of the country doesn't do.
not surprised at all tbh, had either a feeling for NAU or UO, but UO was definitely the #1

I think we can be sure of one thing, most of the haters will now suddenly become lovers. Unless he beats Cole, then it will get messy.
4:01 High School Sophomore --> 4:01 College Sophomore. Bet.
I like Edwards more. More potential.

Coach Thomas works on the ability to sustain hard pacing while still having a kick and is especially good with middle distance to 5K. This kid already has a kick, but should still improve. Seems like a pretty good match for him running wise.

The problem is Tinman burned the kid out, like he does with all his high school athletes. Oregon shouldn't give him more than a books scholarship.

Even if he does not improve he's worth a full ride.

How on earth would you know this.

Not necessarily. Steve Magness ran 4:01 in high school and says that he didn’t get one full scholarship offer.

He doesn’t. Typical lrc’er- making things up. Odds are the poster has never met RH or Tinman, much less spent enough time around either to know anything. Probably a jock sniffer of that frat house of wannabes still pretending to be elite in Boulder.

Someone burned the kid out. Tinman's high school kids peak early in high school then they struggle to improve. Hunter just stalled out later than the current crop. Contrary to his preaching Tinman trains young kids for immediate success at the expense of their future.
I predict right now that he runs at least 3:55 for the mile indoors by his sophomore year at U of O. That program is a great, great program for milers and he's already very close to sub-4. When he enters, Teare will be gone, Hocker may or may not still be there, but they have a lot of freshmen and redshirt freshmen on the roster now who should help a lot.
First off, Rhein is not burned out at all. He struggled with injuries this year that weren’t all running related like being out for 6 weeks after playing football with friends. Normal teenage stuff where he just happened to get unlucky. We’ll see how he does down the road. Second, before he committed he actually had posts on insta saying go jacks and using it as a hashtag which obviously implies he wanted to go to NAU. I’m pretty sure NAU didn’t want him because their culture is more based on team cross country running and Rhein is more of a miler obviously. He’s also slightly aggressive and can come off as a douche on his insta lives depending on how you take it but I’m not sure if that has to do with anything. The second part of this was all my own speculation though. From what I’ve heard and seen it makes sense.
a few points. RH is a super mature individual with extreme talent. Tinman may have been his real coach but tele coaching has its limits. In my opinion, once he leaves home, leaves the social world of his behind and focuses on a real team aspect, we will see something very special based on his talent. This of course is to say, he needs to stop believing the hype and actually produce. The best thing that can happen is to untether and let him find his way with the support system Oregon and Thomas will provide.
Kid overtrains and probably posts fake workout splits on youtube for clout

Injuries happen- joggers, hs’ers, sub elites, and elites. No one is immune. The way people state opinions here as fact is unsettling.
