Hey I raced a 5K yesterday morning. At the one mile mark I got a side stitch. I did slow down the pace, but kept racing. I know this is common, however it still hurts today when I am walking and what not. I was well hydrated, warmed up before the race, and had a light breakfast. The only thing that could have caused it was a fairly big dinner about an hour before bed the night before. Is there any reason why it still hurts over 24 hours later? Also what are remedies? I am going to ice it.
