I am a HS sophomore in fall training.
During the Summer I ran 50.6/1:57.4/4:34 (4/8/16)
I am in fall training in the cross country season and I average around high 20 low 30 mpw. But I want to specifically train and build a base for the 800 in the spring and summer. (Atm XC is main base for spring)
I’m conflicted whether to focus solely on increasing mileage or keep the same mileage (28-35mpw) but add core, upper body, lower body circuit routine. (All body weight exercises)
I was told to increase mileage into the 40s but I’m unsure how that will effect my 400. (I want to drop under 49-50)
Anybody have thoughts on what my training should consist of?
