Sha'Carri is unapologetically herself, and in turn, is a role model for all black women, LGBTQ+ people, and/or anyone with depression and anxiety. Yes, she is loud and y'all might find that obnoxious, but there are thousands of people who look up to the amount of pride she has in herself. Her interview and that commercial were inspiring to those groups. Thumbs up for her keeping her head high after her performance today.
And to be honest, Nike is just capitalizing on one of their athletes being put in the spotlight by making this. Good business decision on their part.

Ah yes I forgot about the clear Correlation between having finger nails and not being able to be a role model

**Gasp**
won't someone think of the children?
Watch her interview after the race dumba ss. She’s literally one of the trashiest people to ever participate in our sport, she even started referring to track as “this game” like she’s a rapper or some crap. I know this is the kind of persona that it takes to reach the American public these days but maybe we just need to pretend to be better.
It was cringe seeing it before the race. And was laughable after she got smoked. Nike fail!

Come on man the weed is what makes her obnoxious. When she is not high she is a sweetheart. lol

When you are hired by a company to represent, you become a role model, champ. When you’re in the public eye, you better wake up and realize there are expectations and standards of conduct. The entire world, with one very minor exception, is made up of other people.
This. Not everyone looks like YOU!

Yep. She is way more important than just running fast! She is paving the way for little girls who happen to look 'differently ' everywhere. Too bad Ghost.

Sweet link.
Mu is quiet, focused and runs an AR.
Richardson is cocky, loud and finishes in last place.
Go ahead, Nike. Support weed and arrogance, instead of success.
I will respect Mu.

Correct. I'm not a Sha'Carri fan but I was well aware of all of those variables while watching that commercial. Situational influence is a heck of a lot more significant than results.

Wow, thousands you think? Amazing...
But, ummm, how about the flip side? You know, those who maybe aren't so impressed with a smack-talking freak who finished dead last but still manages to double down on the smack. Tens of thousands, hundreds of thousands, millions even?
All the complaining and yelling on here doesn’t matter. This is god’s plan. She told us so.

Boomers need to realize they are no longer the target demographic advertisers are looking to reach.

Ain’t isn’t a word.
Being a professional track & field athlete isn’t just about performances in competition (as the limited prize money clearly shows). Being a marketable spokesperson who owns the big stage and gives a good sound byte post-comp are all huge.
SCR missed the big stage. Her post-Pre interview was sad. Whether she is marketable is debatable (unless the promotion is for a cannabis company)?
I blame her for her immaturity. She turned pro too early. Yes, she is young but her suspension was precipitated by her poorly developed coping and decision making skills. Turning to weed in the wake of her bio mother’s death was just the sign. Her post-Pre race interview display of hubris was embarrassing.
I place as much blame on her management team for not preparing her better for the rigors of being a professional off of the track. Their client needs better advising to have a sustainable career. At this point, she is merely a cash register (for all the wrong reasons) and is being used.
I'm thinking it will be like those super bowl commercials , one and done.
Nah. Running fast geta you nowhere or deliah Muhammad would be more famous than Richardson. Richardson is perfect to be famous and rich in america.
