They need let Castor and the other hyperandrogenistic woman back in the 800 to give Athing someone to chase and beat.

You guys are all idiots if you think she will ever run faster than she did today.
She’ll run faster than she did today
She'll run at last 2 secs faster than she did today.

Going out in 54 has got to hurt lmao. She’s in shape for a 1:54 but the WR might be out of reach for a couple years
She was probably closer to 55 - 54.2 was pacer and she was a couple strides behind. Still a little too fast but not quite that fast.

You guys cannot predict future. Rudisha never ran faster than the time he ran his fastest race. If she does she is a doper.
It seems like she always runs on the outside of lane 1 in the turns. Not sure if there’s an idea behind that, or if that just happens naturally. She must be losing time that way.
She’s an incredible athlete! Hope she gets the recognition she deserves.

55.5 offical
If you want to run 1:53 you need to be 55.5 to 56.0
Prob a 1:54 run today if she wasn’t running so wide on every bend. She lost at least 0.6 running wide x 3 bends

Incredibly well spoken given her background. To hear her talk, you'd never guess that she is from New Jersey.
her parent must've kept her away from those meatheads on the shore.

Well spoken?
Given what background?
Do tell.
Just as I said, she is well spoken despite being from New Jersey.

Nice run, but she won't beat Jarmila's WR.

Athing Mu is the most exciting American track athlete I have ever seen (and I have been following the sport for a long time). Very excited for the next few years.
And she is graceful, humble, and pleasant.
The complete antithesis of ShaCarri
Agree completely. Not only is Mu a remarkable athlete who is lovely to watch in action, but she's a wonderful interview. I've never heard her say anything that could be taken badly, but she's not a robot like some athletes, full of cliches and memorized sound bites. She seems warm, funny, and genuine. Remarkable for a 19-year-old. I hope she enjoys taking the rest of the year off.

Athing will get the WR in the next year or two. She will only get stronger as she matures and will most likely run 48.x in an open 400M race, and with that speed she will run a more sensibly paced 800M at some point, something like 56.x/56.x for a 1:52 high or 1:53 low performance. She is really fun to root for and I wish her the very best for the future. Her Coach is smart shutting her down for the season right, very smart.

It looked like all the other athletes ran slower slower than they did in Tokyo, except Mu. Everybody is coming off a peak. Makes me think she had a 1:54 in her in Tokyo, especially how easy she made the 1:55 look back there. Today she was working.
