It is probably worth 7:23 but none of these guys have shown they can do that either. However, you are correct that they would have a better shot at it than 7:20. I just don’t see any of them being in that shape. Barega probably the closest in maybe 7:25 shape and of course other current runners who could likely run close to 8:00 would be Jakob and Kejelcha.
I think there are 3 guys currently who could take a real crack at the record with great pacing, if that were a serious goal of theirs: Ingebrigtsen, Cheptegei, Barega. I think there are several others who could run “close to 8:00,” as in sub-8:02.00 (7:27.2 3K equivalent): Kiplimo, Kejelcha, Wale in 7:24i/Ethiopian Trials shape, Katir on a “good day,” maybe McSweyn, possibly Ahmed, conceivably El Bakkali or Girma.
