That sounds good to say for a "Just In Case they Lose" Excuse. Real competitors with love and passion for the sport . Especially Highly Classed, athletically Gifted women Like Elaine & Shelly aren't going anywhere and not give it there all. Highly Unlikely! They are going to compete at the Highest level and Show Shacarri who they are if they can. It's all about who's at there best. All these women are capable and has run Phenomenal times this year. Again it's all about who will be at their best.

Shelly is known to cruise at meets, she definitely won't at this one though.

I personally think she's going to run VERY WELL. She's fit and motivated which are two ingredients for success. I'm a fan, but also am not afraid to call out a Sh^t Talker when I see one. If conditions are ideal she'll run a PB, whether that wins or not is up for debate.
We shall see soon won't we. Conditions are out of one's control, but we can certainly talk in terms of adjusted time or "basic." She may have the opportunity to run her fastest wind adjusted time ever. As many including you have suggested: fresher legs, motivated, on "home" soil. The Jamaican trio may come in with tired legs and with medals already to their names not as motivated. The situation may suggest she's ready to shine.
BUT, as loud, brash and unapologetic as she is ("it's gametime b^tches"), she's about to go into a showdown with 2 of the fastest women in the history of the sport and likely the two greatest sprinters in history (Flo Jo had a sensational year, but that was one year), and doing so while piling more pressure on herself. It would take the "second coming of Flo Jo) to step up here and come away victorious.
IMO, I believe the moment will be too big for her, and she will run tight and thus not as fast as she could have. And I see her struggling to make it into the top 4. (I think Ta Lou is going to be a fight for her).
She ran a 10.7 with a bad start and showboating the last 20-30 meters in prelims back in May. She can go 10.6 or faster with real competition. I'm actually more interested in her 200 vs Felix. I think we can see a 21.6 in that.
Shacarri might have a strong personality but it's been clear that it's good for the sport. If she loses, a lot of casuals will probably lose interest.
I honestly think shacarri is the only one who can beat elaine. Everyone else got destroyed in Tokyo. As I said she's had 10.6 potential all season and she's definitely been working on her start for a few months so she may come back with a 10.5 to win if the conditions are agreeable

Prandini and Thomas especially are her competition in the 200m, not Felix.

Shar'carri cannot run a 21.6 in the 200M. She is too short and does not have the speed endurance.

I'd she runs 10.5 eventually I'd say she manages 21.65-55 along with it

She's great for the sport because she takes on all challengers. All 3 Jamaicans want to take her on and this is going to be a must see! Vegas betting must be going through the roof!
If she wins at Pre and sets a WR, it will be good for her and not the "sport". She'll receive some attention and endorsements, but after that runs it course, the level of popularity of T&F will remain unchanged. Certainly her success would not generate any new fans for distance running.

Except for DSD women or someone doped to the gills, there will be no 10.5. With perfect wind, super fast track and super spikes, she may get to 21.74

Generally only posters who don't have/never had the innate talent to be sprinters care about distance running. Distancing running is for hobbyists.
As long as she continues to smoke weed and cause the continuation of the controversy, she will be popular.

Yes. This is the correct answer.
this lady (shar'carri) does not care one-frickin-lick about rules at all lmao. she was in the safeway on 18th (about a mile from hayward) on wednesday. she was the only one without a mask of all the athletes who were there shopping together (almost a week after the mandate was installed). she pulled her shirt up to cover he nose a few times, but was giggling and laughing about it, at some point i saw her again with a mask to be fair.
she's about as "for the streets" as you can get. i can't imagine supporting her. also as someone who also refers to their mother as their "biological parent" that lady does not give a flying f*** about her mom dying, and anyone who falls for that malarkey is an idiot.

What else do you want her to call someone that abandoned her at birth??
reading comprehension issue?
it's a perfect description of the person who birthed her. i'm saying anyone thinking it's affecting her, her performance, or believing she deserves sympathy for the death is an idiot, shar'carri doesn't give a flip.
That's not fair.
Even if her "biological parent" wasn't there for her, sha'carri had to hope that one day there would be a relationship there. now that isn't possible.
It's definitely a sad and sobering time for sha'carri.
She referred to her as bilogical becuase she views her grandmother as a parent, it might not have affected her the same as a parent dying normally would but it definitely had an affect. Regardless of whether she cared or not your being pretty disrespectful though.
disrespectful? did you not read my post. this lady does not care about the rules, how they affect her, or anyone around her. she's still months later trying to garner sympathy for her mistake and playing victim... she deserves 0 respect as a person, she's a pretty fast sprinter though.

So, yeah. She talks a lot of trash for someone who hasn't achieved much outside the US. Her 10.72 with a 1.6 wind in Oregon is the only real fast time of note. Yet she behaves like she has been here for longer than a second.
.
She has run in the 10.7s on four different occasions this year, with on being into a headwind. So pretty consistently fast this year. I think she'll beat the Jamaicans but it won't really prove much, since they were all probably peaking for Olympics while this race has now become Sha'Carri's peak race for the season.
