I don't know about you guys, but I am still waiting on the name and publication of that pesky reporter who found out about her biological mothers death before anyone in the family did and then dropped it in an unsanctioned 1 on 1 interview the night before the 100m started.
She couldn't be more full of sh$t if she tried - but hey, popular on the 'Gram now so goal achieved I guess.
Coming out of the blue this year? You must be new to the sport.

The most conservative estimate puts her at 10.69. You pulled the 10.70 outta you're ass because it's not a 10,6. Nice try
Be more specific, she's a villain to YOU, the Jamaicans, arrogant Europeans, idiot conservatives and stuck up Boomers (oh what company to keep!).
She's loved by many more people than she is hated. You and your ilk have your little echo chambers in your little forums and think the whole world thinks as you do. You're sorely mistaken. Only you and your disagreeable bunch think anyone would be surprised if she "gets worked this weekend", but if she works the field, you'll have all the excuses ready for deployment. We see through the bullsh*t
An American who dares to break the mold of fake humility and fake graciousness always triggers people who take themselves and sport too seriously.
And it's ROOT, not ROUTE.
I literally provided a link to the page that shows the adjusted time. 10.70
I'll try again.
https://trackandfieldnews.com/best-all-time-adjusted-100-meter-performances-women/I'm an American Liberal. Voted Biden. YOU are just as bad as the idiots on the right that assume ones political affiliations based on their opinions. MOST Americans operate somewhere in the middle friend. Might lean left or right.
I don't use social media. I avoid the clowns like yourself by doing so. If Sha'Carri does win, I won't run and hide like you will WHEN she gets worked. But if Sha' Carri proves me wrong, I'll be gracious enough to eat crow and say so.
Sha Carri is arrogant. Arrogance is an unlikable trait. But her arrogance will look silly if she doesn't back it up. She absolutely reminds me of the American male sprinters of the early 2000s. Arrogant and unlikable. You can like em. Good for you. I look forward to always ROOTING against em.
And......
https://www.sciencealert.com/people-who-pick-up-grammar-mistakes-jerks-scientists-findBut we kinda knew that based on your posts.
Her situation was a self-inflicted wound. She knew the rules and yet in her grief she somehow wandered into a smoke shop to get some doobies. She cost herself the Olympics and possibly multiple medals. So, even if she wins this and goes on a roll and wins everything left in the season, it'll be small potatoes compared to those multiple golds of Elaine Thompson-Herah. Yet, at the same time, Richardson's mistake elevated her to world-wide fame far more than had she won the gold. This is her chance to make her fame more closely match her achievements. I hope she takes it to them, but this is by no means a fait accompli. Those three Jamaican sprinters are great and it could well take 10.6's to win this, depending on the wind.

Her 10.72 with a 1.6 wind in Oregon is the only real fast time of note. Yet she behaves like she has been here for longer than a second.
The best chance for her to beat the Jamaican trio was to come in quiet, humble and let complacency set in then let it all go on the track. But she's talked so much trash that you know SAFP and ETH will be on.
Sha' Carri and all of her fans are about to get a wake up call.
Wow!
There are some serious twisted posts on this thread. It's so obvious as to who knows what the F**K they're talking about and those who don't. Seriously!, your lack of T & F knowledge shines through bright and clear, and you don't realize it.
Sha'carri is a super talented sprinter, no doubt. She proved this at the Oly trials. If she isn't a re-incarnation of Flo-Jo I don't know who is. The talent, the flash, and the confidence are all there and I think it's great for the sport. Unfortunately, she was not allowed to show the world how good she is (or think she is) at the Olympics (her own undoing, and who cares!). She now has painted herself into a corner with her braggadocio, and that's ok, just as long as she delivers. Some idiots on this thread are saying "She doesn't need to win this weekend", YES SHE DOES! and if not, at the very least she needs to run a wicked fast time (PB at a minimum). She's had plenty of time to prepare and according to her social media posts, she's laid down the gauntlet. Her not performing as expected (her own expectations) will just open the door to a lot of criticism and hate, I'm not for the hate part, but as a true fan of the sport for many years and athlete as well, I'll call her out if she chokes, just as I would ANY other athlete who talks a lot of SH^T and fails to back it up.
I personally think she's going to run VERY WELL. She's fit and motivated which are two ingredients for success. I'm a fan, but also am not afraid to call out a Sh^t Talker when I see one. If conditions are ideal she'll run a PB, whether that wins or not is up for debate.

She's great for the sport because she takes on all challengers. All 3 Jamaicans want to take her on and this is going to be a must see! Vegas betting must be going through the roof!

Wrong
According to tilastopaja USA has 46 Women in the Top 100 All Time List at 100 Meters Jamaica has 14, if you look at the top 1000 All Time Women's 100 list USA Has 308 Jamaica has 73 (Germany has 76)
It is not close Depth wise in USA's Favor they (Jamaica) just have a Few Standouts who are really great.

El K needs to stick to arguing w/ Coevett about distance running. At least he's usually right in those exchanges.
Depth is current, not historical.

Dude I have searched and searched for anything related to this beyond the original version of events - nothing. I don't really care - I'm just interested because it was and is a big story (big enough to be addressed by the President and leveraged by celebs and politicians for whatever agendas they have).
You would think given all of this, surely the "source" of the news would have either come forwards or have been named now - and also the name of the deceased, but no - absolutely nothing and I don't think it's either callous or un-called for to expect some kind of follow-up given the amount of press and coverage it received.

But there are 100x as many people in the US as in Jamaica, but only 3x as many America women in the top 100 All Time.
Surely that counts for something?

SAFP has historically not done well in the US. We'll see about ETH.

Doesn't matter-- current, historical, whatever: there is much more depth of sprinting talent in the U.S. than in JA. How many men in America under the age of 40 have run sub-10? How many Jamaicans have?

This post was removed.
The facts were right in the statement. Her problem has always been her start, so if she’s a 10.7 with a bad start…uum it’s not rocket science smh.
If she manages to beat any of the Jamaican trio that won medals in Tokyo, there will be another media explosion about her. "She didn't go to the Olympics because she smoked weed and beat the medalists. She should have gone, it's a dumb rule, America sucks," etc. etc.
Now, I think she'll get smoked, but if she does well there will be some annoying reporting about it.
