This time of year I am required to be coached under my high school coach, and I have a feeling he is making me worse and I won't hit my goal of 16:30. He significantly lowered my mileage (40 miles a week), makes me run 2 mile doubles every day I run, and he gives me extremely short long runs (5-8 miles). Throughout the summer, I ran around 50-55 miles per week, coached under a very qualified coach, with one rest day and a long run of 13-14 miles.
Is there any way to make up for the difference or should I just fully trust my coach.
