During the track season, I usually run the 800, 1600, and 3200 at most meets. I run all 3 events at my state meet. My main priority is the 1600, followed by the 800, then the 3200. My goal in the 800 is sub-2. Which spikes would be better for me?

Really depends on how you land and what you like.
But looks like all the 1500m pros like the dragonfly the most.
Surprisingly I even see several 800m runners using the dragonfly over the victory.
Given the focus on 1600 with a 3200 as well I’d go dragonfly all day. I’d much rather run an 800m in a less aggressive spike than a 3200 in a top aggressive spike that sucks.
Plus sub 2 isn’t super fast so the dragonfly would do just fine.

Given that order definitely dragonfly
Sprinters’ spikes run extremely rigid and lack any cushioning but maximize grip so you can go as fast as possible without any slippage. Distance spikes, on the other hand, have a slight bit of cush under the heel. Middle-distance spikes fall somewhere in between

Dragonflies will work just great. They are versatile, easier to get used to, and people have ran sub 1:45 800m along with 50 flat (maybe faster) 400m in them so you don’t need to be overly concerned about the spike not being “fast enough”.
