It is time. Patriot League Indoors is upon us and things are getting spicy. Let's start with the team battle... who really cares its just going to be an Army-Navy dual meet. Half of these "teams" won't even have full rosters, let alone anyone who can actually score.
Colgate, Lafayette, American and Holy Cross don't have real programs, so any points they score will be a miracle or from slapping out a 4x800.
In the distance events, expect nothing from Bucknell. They are a horrible program and Donner is on the hot seat. They shocked the world at regionals, but look like they are in hibernation this winter.
Lehigh will actually be competitive purely because of Burke and Melko. Those guys are dudes. The rest of the team is crap, and Slavin's best race is still from when he went belly up two years ago at 2020 indoor.
BU is a fluke. They can only run on their perfect track in perfect conditions. Bucknell will be a hostile environment and we will see if they crack under pressure. Honestly, you think Charlie Hammel is actually a 14:20 guy, nope. That guy was 87th in cross, expect him to finish last in the 5k. Foster Malleck was good... in high school. He hasn't done anything in college and proves once again that BU is mediocre.
Army has some strength at the top, but I won't expect a 13:55 from Gough, and it looks like this will be the end of Beatty's reign atop the league.
Navy is clearly the class of the league.
Superlatives:
Sleeper who scores: Austin Barry. That guy was abysmal in cross country, but I think he's found his groove. That wizard Dupaul is at it again. Give that guy an extension.
Overrated Coach: Jordan Carpenter. This isn't DIII. This is the Patriot League.
Coach who should be fired: Sean Graham
Speaking of Local MILFs, I hear Lewisburg is a great town to find them.
