Assuming all these guys improve into the fall and are firing on all cylinders... what would these guys be ranked preseason/ finish in D1, D2, and D3 this year????

About 100th. Their number 1 wouldn't make top 7 on a competitive team.
do you think they'd podium in d3?

Firing on all cylinders... These guys would be in the hunt for a Top 10 d1 finish!
They would be the spoiler of dreams for d2 and d3!
This is the kind of team where coaches and also rans would be saying, “no way these guys couldn’t beat us at 10k, they’re all speed based, no strength. We peak at nationals, they would be burned out by then.” Ha!
Probably.

I think they'd be a lock for top 3 in D3, top 15 in D2, top 40ish in D1

Nico was #1 on the #1 team with a similar PR.
Are you clueless? His PR is 13:24. NAU has sub 14 guys that don't make top 7. NP has nobody who will go sub 14. Michigan didn't even make the meet but they had 7 guys atc14:15 or faster. How many guys on NP will run under 14:15 in HS? Nowhere near 7. Maybe 2?

What was his PR at the beginning of XC season? It was 13:50. You are taking this quite seriously. My post was tongue-in-cheek.
not ranked
Converting to 3k since that is what college runs

I would put a college team with those returners around the 5-8 spot in a region. My college team was better than that every year and we never got a single vote in the national poll
they come in at #13. anyone who thinks they won't have multiple sub 14's in their top seven before they graduate is wrong.
i take that back. #20 seems more reasonable.
Those times would be around 8-10th in an average region. Those times are worse than my team which is never close to top 5 in the region.
Michigan had 3 sub 14 and wasn't top 30. There are many teams with better top 5 times than NP who are not in the top 30. This a pretty objective thing but some of keep arguing anyway.

Don’t forget the one 15:10 5K guy in the Fall 2020 who ran a 4:09 mile but did not run the 3200.
Thanks for letting us know. Michigan had had 8 guys faster than that and they didn't make the NCAA meet.
Another way to think of it, Jace Aschbrenner ran 8:44 and seemed to improve in college. Probably fairly comparable to the current team. How would 5 Jaces do in D1?

In a 5k? I invite you to go by year by year and count how many HS runners every year run sub 14 in XC.

Who said XC? Do d1 men race 5k for xc? No. We're comparing track times here, which you would notice had you read the thread. Anyone as far under 9 as a few of NP's runners should realistically be translating that to a sub 14 in the following year.
