Coincidentally, I too am from Columbus and I don't think any big race will be happening by late October. I would guess Boston / Chicago / NYC could all be cancelled again. As temps start to fall the cases will go back up like they did last year. And even with vaccine they are saying you can get it still, or spread it, so masks will be mandated for all before too long, along with ineffectual mandatory vaccines and on top of that, cancellation of all big events.
I am in contract selling my downtown condo and will be moving to my country house next week. Good bye Columbus!
I still am going to train, so even if it's virtual, if I can get a race with a chip/timing bib even if you have to do it on your own, it'll be an official time regardless.
Everyone is right about the big D cities canceling things.
The only hope is that we'll have events and races in the summer going forward. I have a wedding slated for 6/24/2022 and I hope they don't do crazy things either to cancel it.
I'm as pro-vax as any lefty on here and got my shots asap but now I'm like, "We went through all that and it's STILL not good enough?"
