In the Letsrun dot com recap and analysis of today's 1500m finals, Jakob Ingebrigtsen's upset of Tim Cheruiyot and gold medal win seems to be what Brojos are obsessed with. There is also mention of Josh Kerr winning bronze. Then of Cole Hooker who finished 6th. There is no mention of Abel Kipsang(PB 3'32"68) who was third at the Kenyan trials then won his heat in Tokyo before breaking Olympic record in semis with a win and new PB(3'31"68). Kipsang ran brilliantly in the finals and was in contention for bronze and silver in the final straight only for Josh Kerr to come from behind and snatch the bronze medal from him. He finished 4th with a new PB of 3'29"56! In my opinion, Abel Kipsang, with 3 second PB improvement in less than 8 days is the revelation of these games and may be Cheruiyot's heir apparent. Am I wrong? And we wonder how Etyang, the guy whom Tim "Potato head" Cheruiyot replaced would have done here in Tokyo?
