Jakob is clearly a generational talent, but his father had better shut up.

Classic Norwegian arrogance on display.
You are one of the most arrogant people on the planet.
Thx 😉 Its all true tho. Not your quote, but Jakob slowing down.

Google "Norwegians arrogance" and it may open your eyes.
And Jakob slowed down for a fraction of a second and then even made an effort to dip at the line.
Get some new glasses, I suggest.
When you stick a camera in a slightly controversial figure's face, hot takes and bad predictions will come out

I've said it before, that the first time Jakob beats Tim, he'll never lose to him again.
Jakob ran a great race!! But, what is he... 1-12 versus Tim? Slow your roll.
Here's to hoping they push each other to some amazing times in the future!
French Dawg wrote:
"Well he’ll have to improve just a little more to beat Tim’s PB. Today he moved from 7th on the all time list to…. 7th on the all time list. Brilliant run, but he drafted off a guy who can’t even count the number of races he has run that fast on one hand. Slow down, Jakob will lose again, and he will lose to many more than just Tim."

You are just one of the many negativists! I guess you will be very wrong as you were in your statement below:
"French Dawg wrote:
"If you’ve really been paying attention then you will see that Tim has eased at the line coming into the finish in both of his rounds, running times well slower than he is capable of. The semi without Tim was much faster, with many runners pushing the pace even from the first lap. Qualifiers from that heat will feel the burn, and Tim will do what he is best at,
leading at a brisk pace and completely gutting most of the field. I predict
Tim-3:29.2
Cole-3:29.9
Stewie-3:30.1
Next above 3:32, with the rest of the field burnt from the pace, or the pace of their semi. I am really on the Hocker train and think we are seeing the first year of a meteoric rise. Stewie is basically the same thing for Australia. I can’t wait to watch this race tomorrow."

I am not sure YOU paid attention:
Jakob cruised both the heat and the semi! The 2 first rounds have only been sharpeners for Jakob.
He is my favorite but of course there can come surprises.

Did you have Jakob in your "blind angle" French D?
This is such a ridiculous statement and he’s only setting himself up to eat crow in the future. This is sport. You can’’t have a 100% record, else there would be no need for the competition to show up.
Look. I don’t think Lamont Marcell Jacobs is the new Bolt or that Sifan Hassan will always finish ahead of Gidey and Obiri. I definitely don’t think Jakob is the new El G. Such a stupid and ungracious remark.

I feel like it’s a Scandinavian thing. Plenty of examples elsewhere.

Nothing wrong with my eyes. Our former prime minister, Gro Harlem Brundtland, once said it (back in the nineties); "It is typically Norwegian to be good"
And Jakob slowed down for a fraction of a second and then even made an effort to dip at the line.

Its like Warholm with and without the fight against Benjamin. Jakob wasnt in the danger zone and you could see how controlled it was. The time would have been significant better if Tim had been right behind in the end.

You have no perception of your own traits. Typical of narcissists.
Come on, Gjert was crying in a corner right before being asked by the reporter, emotions all over the place. Besides the Ingebrigtsens are part of a "reactionary movement" against the traditional Janteloven: https://www.lifeinnorway.net/what-exactly-is-janteloven/. It's hard to explain for non-scandinavians but in recent years it's been a trend with somewhat cocky celebrations and showing confidence. So I don't take it too seriously when Jakob shouted "det var lett" ("that was easy") into the camera. For the other norwegians here: I half expected him to shout barneløp :)
Is that typical of Norwegians as well, being a narcissist? Curious to learn more about ny fellow countrymen 🍻

You want to know more about a country's people, ask immigrants and visitors.

Why? You refute my answers.
You sound like one of those posters starting "change my mind" threads that will never allow their minds to be changed - and never intended to.

Living in Minnesota, the most norwegian part of the US, we too love to be good. Nothing we love more than to see ourselves at the top of a list.
Just find the premise laughable. To label the people of a whole country. Its like me believing most from the USA to be stupid and uneducated. In norway we have janteloven. Almost like a controll mechanism in the society. And no. Its not typical Norwegian to be arrogant. Not at all.
Nah, Timothy's run 1:43 for 800 -- a full 3 seconds faster than Jakob -- and he's a hell of a lot stronger and ballsier than Jakob.
Timothy is just now racing himself back into shape after being injured. I wouldn't be surprised if he takes a successful shot at the WR toward the end of this season and wastes Jakob in the process. If not, though, he'll be back with a vengeance in Eugene next year.
Gjert seems a bit of a bellend - but hard to disagree with him here.
RIP: D3 All-American Frank Csorba - who ran 13:56 in March - dead
RENATO can you talk about the preparation of Emile Cairess 2:06
Running for Bowerman Track Club used to be cool now its embarrassing
Rest in Peace Adrian Lehmann - 2:11 Swiss marathoner. Dies of heart attack.
Hats off to my dad. He just ran a 1:42 Half Marathon and turns 75 in 2 months!
Great interview with Steve Cram - says Jakob has no chance of WRs this year
