What are their names and where will they finish? I know Suguru Osako is a well known guy but aside from him I don't know too much about the Japanese marathon team. Any input is appreciated.

Yuma Hattori (2:07:27 - Fukuoka 2018) 2nd at Marathon Grand Championships. 24th at Hokkaido Sapporo Marathon Festival in HM this year.
Shogo Nakamura (2:08:16 - Berlin 2018) Won the Marathon Grand Championships. Hasn't raced for over a year.
I would expect Suguru Osako to be the best of the Japanese athletes, but who knows.
Any intel on the Japanese women and how they stack up vs the field?

Bump for intel on the Japanese women marathoners.
From Aussiestatman's olympic marathon preview
MAEDA Honami
So with that, 11th woman becomes Honami Maeda. Second in Osaka this last Jan in 2.23.30 and winner of the Grand Champs in 2019 in 2.25.15, 3.47 ahead of second. Broke that selection event open with a 16.41 split between 20 and 25k. In 2020, ran the quickest 30k by anyone from an Asian country: 1.38.35.
SUZUKI Ayuko (not mentioned)
ICHIYAMA Mao - 20:20:29 March 2020 (NR)
You are completely overlooking the hometown favorite, Mao Ichiyama of Japan. She cruised to easy victory at the Osaka Marathon in January. Her training is the best its ever been. And she will be running at home. Ichiyama will definitely finish in the top 4, and she could possibly get a medal in Sapporo!
From Brett Larner's Tokyo athletes to watch (olympic) on his Japanese Running Blog
Mao Ichiyama has the fastest time in the field this season and has continued to get better and better over the last two years, winning last year's Nagoya Women's Marathon, this year's Osaka International Women's Marathon and May's Olympic test event half marathon. The only mark against her was a weak run in heat at the Olympic Trials two years ago. That definitely counts for something, but while Trials winner Honami Maeda and 2nd-placer Ayuko Suzuki have better records in the heat, both having won Sapporo's Hokkaido Marathon in August, setbacks in the last year knock their chances back behind Ichiyama's.
Women's Marathon
Mao Ichiyama - 2:20:29
Honami Maeda - 2:23:30
Ayuko Suzuki - 2:29:02
alternate - Mizuki Matsuda - 2:21:47
Is the alternate Matsuda running? Has she replaced one of the other 3?
The main three are running, per world athletics start list.
RIP: D3 All-American Frank Csorba - who ran 13:56 in March - dead
RENATO can you talk about the preparation of Emile Cairess 2:06
