Murphy should have moved up to the 1500.
Murphy should have moved up to the 1500.
That race was run so poor by the field. I give credit to the guys up front, but it felt like a let down by 200 to go. Almost reminds me of the 2017 final when Bosse won in what basically ended up being a fluke. Don’t get me wrong, Korir and Rotich are valid runners. I just wouldn’t say this race did anything to improve their stock.
Murphy choked. Looks like he got real lucid with 100 to go and packed things in.
When Amos AND Murphy finish last and next to last, it requires a more in depth analysis of "why were their tactics so bad??"
Murphy at least was trying but kept waiting for the moment to get out of jail and take off and by the time he did it was way too late because off that slow pace, everyone took off.
If the Kenyans ran that race with a plan, it was brilliant. More likely it was just dumb luck that it worked out for them. Murphy got into a bad place and didn't/couldn't get out in time. Probably same from Amos though I was watching Murphy.
Its easy to blame Clayton and he deserves some but sometimes everything just goes wrong..
Men's Dec. 400 Meters up. Did Eaton really put up a 45.00 in the middle of a 10 event competition?!

Yes, he was so excited about it. 2015 world champs

I remember he was way fired up. Understandably so. Just watched Heat 2 of Mens 400 in the Decathlon where Top 2 set PRs and most the whole rest of the field had season bests and NONE were within 3 seconds of Eaton's 45 flat!
Moloney just ran 46.3. Warner looking very strong overall.
Men's 800 was the worst track final of the olympics by far, and it's not even close. Disgraceful performance by Murphy, wtf was he even doing out there. He should be ashamed of himself.
I wonder how often Lyles races from such an inside lane? More pressure on him than Knighton or Bednarek.
Why no headband for Bednarek? That’s the best look.
multi nerds head over to t and F news. We have the 200m final to sh!tpost about here.
Wow, Knighton youngest track finalist in Olympic history! Crazy that he may not just be a finalist, but a medalist too.

are you aware that the race happened and Amos was fighting for the dead last position with Murphy, right?
