Neither Murphy or Amos was a factor. Murphy was never in it at any point.
Congrats Kenya! Gold AND Silver.
Jeezus... what a nothing race by Murphy. Total disappointment.
Murphy DFL and Amos 2nd to last. Who could’ve called that?
Murphy ran so poorly
well that was a bummer of an 800
both boring and slow
murphy dfl?
Now this was even more surprising than women's steeple...
Murphy with a rough trip. 2 shoves in the first 150 meters. Never was a factor.
What just happened!!
I thought it was a great race, total chaos the whole time (of course it would be better to just have 8 people in an 800 final but I don’t think the additional 1 is what caused the craziness and constant lead changes)
Amos and Murphy off the burritos

When he started to run into the backs of the runners at 200m, he had to have known the race was going out way too slow. You can't outkick eight other guys who have been jogging for 600m.
That was the worst race of the Olympics.

All credit to Frerichs, I have never seen her really attack a field of this caliber let alone a US championship. She went for it like never before and it paid off big time.
She did the exact same thing in 2017.
not nearly at the same caliber. She had separation on the entire field going into the final lap this year, while in 2017 she was with Coburn Chepkoech and Kiyeng until the very last water jump. Sure she went for it in 2017, but not out there alone pushing the pace.
What a lame sh!t race that was. Did they jamb up Murphy on purpose. Poor guy ran 820m probably.
Stuck behind a slow moving jamb up that then sprints away from him simply because he was so far back;

Brazier from home: I would have smoked everyone.

+1
Most disappointing for sure. Slowest Olympic final since when?
Am I living in the twilight zone? The Boston Marathon weather was terrible!
Des Linden: "The entire sport" has changed since she first started running Boston.
Ryan Eiler, 3rd American man at Boston, almost out of nowhere
Matt Choi was drinking beer halfway through the Boston Marathon
