Warner of Canada ran a world best of 10.13 for his decathlon 100M. He would beat some of the male sprinters.
German athlete had a major injury in the long jump of the decathlon. His leg gave out running down the track. He head dived into the sand pit.

That “c-r-a-c-k” didn’t sound like a soft-tissue injury. Ouch
Who spelled Athing Mu's last name that way? The immigration assistant in the US Sudanese embassy visa department should be court martialed. Why not spell it Mo or Moe? And that was during W's administration. MOGO!

I'm watching it via NBC streaming. There's an Australian female commentator. Her accent annoys me, so I have it muted. I didn't hear the crack. The injury does look serious though.
Thanks for the correction.

Why do the British announcers use the word Plasticene instead of plastic? I think Plasticene is the equivalent of Play-Doh

Because the material is plasticine and not just plastic. Plasticine is needed for the imprint of the shoes to recognize the foul.
Hutchings and the American keep contradicting each other with "event" and "discipline".

Ohhhh are they now. Are you sure he's American? He sounds british to me.
Oh I hear the American now.
Mu's medal presentation
Warner's long jump in the decathlon would have won bronze in the individual long jump competition.
Decathlon/ heptathlon should really be the most important competition. Why isn't that the case? I think they should change the format. Staggered start in the final race. Make comparison easier in general. Biathlon / Nordic combined are good examples. Maybe do all 10 disciplines in a row, run one lap, throw the discus, run two laps, long jump etc. Should also incorporate shooting and carry a rifle.
Wow. blanket finish in the first semi of the 100mH.
Roberts 5th.
Somewhat unlucky performance. 4th place might have been enough to qualify by time. Very close.
How did this many japanese get into the semifinal of 110mH? Aren't they all like 5'5?
