Correct, but I think his intrinsic worth at the moment is around 332 in the right conditions. Definitely a contender and he’s a fighter also. he reminds me of a middleweight boxer when he runs. Pugnacious.
No, he's a 3:35 guy at best. This isn't complicated.
You're stupid. Hocker ran a 3:50 mile. Indoors.

well, he's a guy who ran a 3:35 1500, and then just for fun kept on running another 109 meters in 14.9 seconds!
He's a 3:35 guy. Why is this so hard for you to accept?
This is technically true, if you define "X guy" in such a way as to make it useless for accurately establishing expectations about performance. These two things would then both be true:
- Cole Hocker is a 3:35 guy
- Cole Hocker can beat most if not all of the world's "3:33 guys".

Bias alert. I watched that race & my first thought was that his poor tactics could very well cost him a spot in the finals. When only 6 go through & you're 4th when many think you're better than that you got the job done but probably weren't in good position. He was kicking and everyone else at the front could match him. This is a different level. The semis will be interesting.
Also, he should've gotten the vaccine.

Fantastic race.
A+ for tactics and execution. My only question is what happened at the 1200 meter mark. Those Brits are known for filing protests. The kicked Niyonsaba out for nothing. Did he step on or over rail?
update Rojo spoke to Cole and he said he didn’t touch rail
he got 4th in a prelim. CHILL

Intrinsic is not the word you're looking for.
why not
I can't believe you all are getting trolled this hard by rhimby. No one in the world truly thinks Cole Hocker's max capability is 3:35.
But please continue. It's pretty funny
Hocker had better hope that Potato Tim doesn't get bored and run a 3:30 in the semi.
Hocker is a 3:35 1500 m runner because he really hasn't had to run faster. He is just 20 and had only competed in college prior to the OTs. He has a 3:50 mile, which indicates he has a low 3:30 time in him. He showed off a massive kick when he won the OT over Centro. While it is fair to say that he is unproven in international competition, I never thought that he was a fluke who had to prove himself.
This is Hocker's first OGs. Centro, Flannigan, and Coburn did not get competitive for podium spots until their second games and after a couple of WCs. So, history tells us not to expect Hocker to be a big factor this time around.
He got 4th in a PRELIM. Let's all just chill
Centro won bronze in his first World's in college in 2011.

You can justify it however you like. It doesn't change that Cole Hocker is a 3:35 guy AT BEST

Who would you rather be 3:35 guy Cole or 3:31 guy Kerr sweating it out hoping to make the next round as his 3:31 didn’t help him much tonight?
Yes. This post is spot on
