I've been able to knock out a few running ailments this training block due to listening to my body and stretching/icing/rolling better than before. However, one still is weird--it's a dull ache that doesn't go away below my ribcage on my right side. It's been like this for a few weeks but I'm still able to put in 50-60 mpw w/no issues.
It's usually while trying to sleep. During the run it's there a little bit but not intrusive--I did 20 on Saturday and felt strong in 2:43 with no issues other than feeling tired by Mile 19.
But when going to bed I don't sleep well because it doesn't go away. I don't know if I need to get an MRI on it either. I thought it may be kidney stones but those are usually lower and I'd have urinary issues, but I'm also much more careful about hydrating this year.
ibuprofen does not work and neither does icy hot. The heating pad may look promising.
I'm hoping it's just a sore rib. It's tender to the touch. I'm trying to avoid going to do the doctor to save $ but I'm just wondering how I even hurt it in the first place?
