All that talk about how great they allegedly were, and can’t even get a single guy in the final, let alone a medal. Coevett goes hole devastated.

Wasn't it about the women? Three in that final.
There has been plenty of hyperbolic talk about the men as well.

No mate. You’re just trying to save face. All the talk was about the women. You’re the one going home devastated. 0/10.

If you haven’t seen Coevett hyping up their men’s 800m squad then you rarely come to LRC.
Giles had one very impressive DL? or other high level meet win. I'd have rather expected him in the final than the Spaniard. But as usual the semis were a bit crazy.
OTOH they were lucky with the women. Bell would very probably not have qualified had she not had perfect pacing by Mu. The other semis with the negative splits were tougher and I think Reekie and Hodgkinson are a level above Bell.
Bell has done brilliantly to make the final, that's well above expectations for her.
Elliot Giles and Dan Rowden both screwed up. Giles should have took his foot off the gas after 200, he just did the entire field a favour and as a 1:44 guy, he doesn't have have the talent to do that. Rowden got himself boxed and didn't have the ability to get out. He was accelerating in the home straight, ran into Murphy, and lost all chance right then. A warning to Cole Hocker of what can happen when you're positioned badly - all the finishing speed in the world won't help if there's simply no room
Coevett is on suicide watch.
heads will roll at the brit state sponsored mandatory doping headquarters

I think Giles had the right idea but surprisingly nobody took the lead from him at 400. He actually benefited hugely from his front running when Amos and Jewett went down. Rotich was a fait accompli to pass him but I think it’s disappointing he couldn’t hold off Tuka. If he’s in 1:43.5 shape he didn’t show it.
Rowden got boxed but he also didn’t have that good a close. He could’ve either tried to slingshot with Murphy or dart around a bit but instead even when he did get room he was not gaining on all the guys kicking.
Ultimately kinda as we thought 1:43 mid or high is a nice time but it is not close to a lock to make the final. Your margin for error only becomes rather significant once you’re in 1:42/1:43low shape.
Coevett doesn't care about Giles or Rowden. But he's definitely crushed by party boy Dustin's failure to factor, and is especially inconsolable at his long-time favourite, and fellow Britain First member, Kyle Langford's dwindling prospects at the ripe old age of 25. He's had Langford as his pick for gold in Tokyo for years.
El Keniano goes home devastated by the Kenyans failing to show up in the 10k and getting spanked by USA and others, coevett goes home devastated by his pathetic UK showing in the 800m. The two worst posters on letsrun both got what they deserve.
Not hyped up as much as Brazier
Seb Coe would be turning in his grave....if he was dead.

Newsflash! Kenya hasn't won 🥇 in the 10,000m since, wait for it ... 1!968! Why would I go home devastated?
Also, Rhonex was in Tokyo less than 48 hours before the event. He didn't stand a chance in those conditions.
There can be no other poster on LetsRun than Coevett who lives rent free inside the heads of so many other posters here.

+1, he doesn't even post as Coevett anymore yet "Coevett" lives on.
Why are you talking to yourself, Coevett?
Under your skin and in your head!!
The chip on American shoulders is quite remarkable.
