From the outset, I want to be clear that I am not looking to post something partisan here. This is just an honest attempt at garnering information on what I know to be a hot-button topic.
Every time a new variant of Covid-19 has arisen, I’ve done some searching (albeit, haven’t put a ton of effort into it) to look into what is different from one variant to the next or one variant to the original strain of the breakout. Each time, I come up short on anything describing the structure and/or mechanism of the virus that’s been altered and seem to only find interpretations of both (ie “it’s more transmissible”, or “it’s less deadly”).
Does anyone out there know of a good resource/reputable source I can look to for such information on current and future variants?
Part of my interest is trying to better understand what has changed or is changing about the virus just because I have a curious mind on these kinds of topics (Biochem degree).
