Jewett clearly tripped himself. Amos is the one who should be advanced. Really wonder if either would have made it on their own.

Anyone think Amos has grounds to protest into the final? It’d be a shame to see his streak of poor championship running continue because of something like this.
Through to final, Dobek, Korir, Bol, Murphy, Rotich, Tuka, Tual, Ben (The last two being the fastest to losers outside the first two in the semis).
Tragic for Amos and Jewett, both falling down. Jewett self tripped.

+1 you are right Amos has definite grounds to appeal to get into the final.
It should be a 9 man final tolerated
Finalists:
KEN ROTICH Ferguson Cheruiyot
AUS BOL Peter
USA MURPHY Clayton
FRA TUAL Gabriel
ESP BEN Adrian
BIH TUKA Amel
POL DOBEK Patryk
KEN KORIR Emmanuel Kipkurui
Tual and Ben benefited from the fast heat 2 to be fastest qualifiers
Is their grounds for reinstating Amos/Jewett? Not seen a replay so not sure what happened? But unlike they'd run 9/10 in final?
First Australian in a 800m final since Ralph Doubell won gold in 1968! It's been a long wait!

Max Burgin must be sitting at home banging his head against the wall. He would have walked into the final.
Interesting post but I I feel that this is not necessarily true.

I think Jewett fell on himself so I do not think he has any grounds to appeal to go to the final but I think Amos definitely has grounds to go to the final because the American, Jewett, impeded him.
The video is not very clear to me and the question I have is there anyone impede or touch Jewett, making him fall? I think not but maybe people see it a different way? Once again, I believe Amos was impeded and should go to the final. Not criticizing the American, by the way, - it was a very unfortunate accident.
Correction: “ Did anyone impede or inadvertently touch Jewett which made him fall“

Coevett goes home devastated as usual. He gloated at Amos’s fall with as much glee as he showed when he assaulted that African in the locker room. Now the truth comes out and it’s another failure for old Coevett. What a loser.

“ I was able to loop it on the Canadian stream, I watched it up close three times in a row, outside angle and you could see jewett's knee get hit perfectly inconspicuously by Tukad foot, it was very shocking to me to see cuz I thought something else would cause the fall.
But they had a really clear angle on it, I'd be surprised of Jewett didn't have Spike marks on his right knee.
That cost is right foot to hit the ground faster than they expected and he lost control of his body which took him down and then Amos.”
Jewett ran up on Tuma's foot, it hit Jewett in knee, forced his right leg to speed down and hit the ground, toppling Jewett.
Amos has grounds for appeal.
I was rooting for Jewett.

Sounds like something from the D'agostino playbook. Sportsmanship award contenders.

Wrong.
Bolt has a 2:05 800m PR.
“I just felt like when I was starting to lift, somebody hit the back of my heel and that caused me to fall,” Jewett said. “It was devastating. I’m not going to lie.”
So happy for Tual and Ben making it to the final. It's gonna be great with Tuka, Murphy and Dobek too
Great pity. He would have got into the final alright. Had the times article not come out about cocaine, you have to imagine Dustin would have got in.
Huge disappointment for team gb but exciting future all the same provided Dustin gets his head screwed on like burgin does.
