And here’s a typical coachB training week at a mid level D2. I assume most of our competitors were doing similar stuff.
Mon: 6 x1k. Can’t hit the overly aggressive splits? It’s ok, take longer rest. 2 up, 2 down
Tue: my legs are kind of dead. 4 miles AM 7 miles PM, why does the last mile feel like a race? Weights.
Wed: 2 up, 3 x1 mile hill circuits with 3 massive hills per circuit. Why does each one feel like a race? 2 down
Thu: see Tue. Why can’t I walk up the stairs in my apparent?
Fri: AM easy 4
Sat: 2 up, 8k with a monster blow up at 6k. But hey, 27:01 placed me in the top half of the field, so rock on! 2 down.
Sun: long. 12 miles. Legs should feel ready to go for tomorrow, right?
Repeat 8 weeks in a row.
Take 2 weeks off then run 50 mpw until track season.
