Great run for Grant. I'd thought he and Woodie would be about 30 seconds off the winner. And he took some major scalps.
Don't spoil the race. Very upsetting.
I hadn't even watched it yet.
I only typed in Let'sRun to get the streaming link

Can we praise Grant without trashing hunter? Is that possible? If anything we should be comparing Fisher to Brazier since they are both from Michigan.
But this was an incredible run for Grant. I think he now looks like he can do about the same in the 5k
I don't disagree with your overall point, but suggesting we should compare athletes of completely different disciplines because they went to high school in the same state is pretty ridiculous. Grant and Drew run similar events, were both studs in HS from the mile up to xc, raced in hs and one went to college and they other went pro. That is why people will compare their career trajectories.... even if they grew up in different states.

Correct and proper title. 5th is worthless and Fischer knows it.

You don't know the medal's of the 2021 Olympics? I believe he gets the Led medal I wouldn't do the whole put the medal in your mouth trick if I was him.
1. Gold
2. Silver
3. Bronze
4. Wood
5. Led
Don't you know the sport? Last place, or sometimes 4th place if it hurts enough is referred to as the "Lead Medal"

What a run by Grant.
5th place. Are we actually celebrating 5th place.
US distance running historically sucks. Still no medal.
Imagine celebrating if the US was 5th in the 400M or 100H or 400H or 100m or 200m or 110H or Shot Put or 4x1 or 4x4
stop with this BS
The US has improved dramatically at 5k/10k the past decade in championship races. How old are you? 5th place at the beginning of a professional career is still on target for medaling later on. He took some serious scalps including world championship medalists and world record holders (Kipruto).
Come back to the LR board rarely these days. While there is treasure posted here, the amount of elementary school BS is astounding.
Fantastic by Fisher. Good races by Woody and Klecker.

didn't realize he beat kejelcha but race was super slow.
Good result for him. As good as he could do but he didn't contend like Ahmed tried to do.
Ahmed showed courage with that move, was wishing it turned out better for him. Glad he took that risk.
When the testing is all said and done be he will have a medal. 🏅

What a run by Grant.
Just imagine how great he could be if BTC fires Jerry and hires Grant's mom to coach the team.
What do we think he could run if he got in a fast 5k or 10k after the games?

Who logs on to letsrun after a major olympic race and expects to not see spoilers? This is your fault.
How about people who were either sleeping or running during the race and couldn't find a single video on the Interwebs with the race?
Grant is in 27 flat shape. He ran that 27:11 earlier in the year and just seems to look better and stronger with each race. He’ll crack sub 27 next year if he stays healthy. 10 AR is very tough but wouldn’t bet against Grant at this point

Drew would have 100% medaled had he been in this race. Possibly gold but it’s hard to say. Look out for Hunter to win the infamous quad in Paris (1500, 3k SC, 5k, 10k)

Great result for a first Olympic team for Grant.
What happened with Kieran?

Fantastic by Fisher. Good races by Woody and Klecker.
Yeah, you’re right. We just have to ignore the juvenile BS. That was an incredible run by Fischer. Brutal conditions. I kept thinking he was going to drop off, but he was in the mix until last 150.
kids a legend. check out the half step pod. great listening to him talk about the lifestyle.

Fantastic run. Roughly 14:01/13:47 and stuck with the group the entire way when others dropped off. Very impressed, well deserved 5th.
Kissa led at 5,000m (14:08.56).
Fisher was 14:11 closing in 13:35…awesome for him, but he needs more than just a fast last lap to hang with the big boys.
And some of the posters on here need look up results (it’s not too hard…it’s called google..or just go to the World Athletics page) before posting. All the splits are there to see.
