this has nothing to do with that. she was not lined up to go short. she was several meters in front of where she should have been. instincts alone should have let her know where to lineup based on her competitors.
but again, i realize these athletes are used to having their hands held, and this is not being accommodated in Tokyo
We don't know that. She was clearly not by her competitors which if the goal was for her to run short would make sense. The fact that she actually lined up on a line, makes it seem like she just went to the wrong spot. But she may have been coached that "It's going to seem like you are the only one in your spot". But if she was really trying to run short she shouldn't have been standing on any line and just like 8 meters ahead of the actual start of the zone.
OR she was actually instructed wrong by officials.
