David Rudisha only knew how to front run too...
... some of you posters amaze me.

Ever heard of David Rudisha?
Was thinking exactly the same. Her stride is amazing (like Rudisha - maybe better?). If she runs in the pack, she needs to shorten her stride.
She’s unfortunately better off in the lead

Why are you mentioning heart rate so much for an 800m race lol who cares
The poster was just emphasizing how easy that round was for her.
She would have moved on with any tactic she chose and was smart to just control the race and stay out of trouble. Although Brenda Martinez is not running, trips and falls are still a risk when running fast in a pack.
Mu is amazing. I’m telling you, she will surprise everyone in the final, and will blow everyone away.
I think she will realize for the first time in her life that she is in a real race, and will rise to the occasion, and surprise even herself.
She is the real deal. Take it to the bank.
I believe you are right and nearly everyone does. However, there are four sub 1:57 women this year with her, so she's going to have to run 1:55 to win. I bet she does that and more because she hasn't really been pushed this year and is much improved at the 400m. 1:54 high. But this is why they run the races.

Lol….. This “novice” is competing in the Olympics.

+100
David Rudisha sucks. He only front runs and because of that he will never win an Olympic gold.
Calling it now: USA is gonna go 1, 2, 3 in the women's 800.
Mu, Wilson, Rogers.

Mu and Rogers are in great shape. Not so sure about Ajee who once again had drama at the end. At least she has one more race before the final to find a workable plan.
She is a great young runner and she advanced. Many "seasoned" pros pinned themselves along the rail in slow qualifying races, got boxed in (no surprise) and didn't advance. I like Mu's approach so far.

Good post.
Typical LetsRacist trash thread.

Exactly. I'd rather be in Athing Mu's shoes than Melissa Bishop's right now.
"Tactics" lol.

I'd love to see her do just that and run away with it, but I have a bad feeling about Almanza having a few tricks up her sleeves.

A high schooler that going to win gold.

She slammed the brakes on in front of a few real pros I hope she does it again they will run right over her LOL
Rofl they are terrified of her and you can tell. Mu already owns this field and rightfully so.
Terrible read

Think there is a good chance for 2 Americans to win medals and almost certainly one will be a gold for Mu. I think someone else will sneak in there for a medal too such as Almanza or one of the Brits. If I were to bet, I think only Mu wins a medal.
I have no idea how anyone can have that take on Mu's race. I've seen her race about 5 times now and she looks like a pro every time. Additionally, she comes off as very poised and mature in her interviews.
