Haaaaaaaahaaaaa to all you haters.
Grijalva used the “rule of law”by filing all the appropriate paper work and getting permission to travel.
I don’t care how he does. To go to Tokyo is a major win. I am so happy for him.
I find it ironic that he is looking for permission to return to the country he is not representing at the Olympics, but I guess how is that different than Alexi Pappas or Tuntivate or Parsons. Good luck Luis. He probably has American siblings who were born after the family emigrated.

It's different because he does not have the option of competing for the US. Unlike Parsons, Tuntivate, or Pappas, he was actually born in the country that he is representing and doesn't hold US citizenship, which in my eyes makes it a much more respectable decision.
He's far more "American" than a good chuck of the POSs who were born here.
Really? Why can't he take the path of Chelimo? Oh I guess he can but he chooses not to.

Jesus this is like the 1,000th person in lets run that can not get this to there head. IF YOU CAME TO THE U.S. ILLEGALLY EVEN IF IT WASNT YOUR CHOICE THE PATHWAY TO CITIZENSHIP IS ON ANOTHER LEVEL OF DIFFICULTY THAN TO SOMEONE WHO CAME THROUGH THE LEGAL PROCESS LIKE CHELIMO IT’S NOT COMPARABLE. Not even joining the military guarantees you citizenship if you are undocumented (search up deported veterans) stop making ignorant statements.

Chelimo's path requires a 4.5 year commitment to the U.S. Army. What choice would you make, you entitled fun runner?
He can join tomorrow. He didn't come illegally. His parents did. Look it up. He refuses to do it.

No he can not, what are you talking about?stop making things up. Luis was born in Guatemala, he is undocumented and doesn’t have a green card he is on DACA. The military got strict on letting undocumented migrants joining.
“ There is a common misbelief that DACA participants—undocumented immigrants who came to the United States as children—can join the military as part of the DACA program. DACA participants are authorized to work and seek higher education opportunities, but they cannot join the military without a Green Card.”

Stop lying. He can't. He's part of DACA.
Can an illegal leave this country (to go to Tokyo) and be given permission to return to this country (USA) after?
In other words, can DACA recipients travel internationally freely at will?
Also, what about the DAPA program Deferred Action Against Parents of Aliens? The parents who brought these illegal children to America are also protected from deportation per Barack Obama.
Great news!

Why do people keep saying he can join the military? Ha cannot. Only citizens or legal permanent residents can join. He is neither.
It's great he is going to Tokyo but that does not change his status.
