But less juiced.
Probably couldn't get on the right sauce after being spooked by the drug raid.
Too bad.
PROUD AFRICAN LION!
ALIEN BABY KIPROP!
YOU ALL SCARE!
Does this mean Taoufik Mahkloufi is at the end of his elite racing career? Zero chance Mahkloufi attempts to be an elite 1/2 Marathon & Marathon road racer. If this is it for Mahkloufi, he will go down as one of the true 800m & 1500m greats. Many athletes refer to themselves as 800-1500 athletes, Mahkloufi truly was one, a great one.
Passant goes home devastated, 99% of genuine athletics fans are delighted.
He knew best-case was a shot at bronze.

From Makhloufi last letter in facebook:
I waited for the last minute to make a decision because it was difficult and important to me because I thought about the people who were waiting for me to participate in the Olympics. It saddens me to inform you that I will not be on the plane carrying the third batch of our expedition, for which we wish all the best, to Tokyo on 26 July. I had to listen to my body and knees, which, with the Corona epidemic that hit me last year, confused my preparations. During these difficult times, the Ministry of Youth and Sports, the official sponsor of Mobilis, as well as the Algerian Federation of Athletics, gave me the necessary support.

I'm extremely far from being a fan or follower of Makhloufi.
You don't know a lot of things.
Apparently Makhloufi is from the family of 1500m runners ... I was hearing this family name in the Algerian middle distances in the beginning of 80s or end 70s (I can't remember).
"knee injury"
I thought he was too juiced to bruise.
“I did several physical tests and they were not positive, for not achieving the times I used to in training, it was frustrating, but returning from Japan empty-handed would have been more frustrating. . Despite all this, I promise I will try to come back stronger and more determined for the upcoming dates. There are the Mediterranean Games 2022 in Oran and the World Championships 2022 in the United States of America"
do you see what i see Makhloufi?
He looked so suspect through the rounds and final in 2012, that many were convinced he would get popped for drugs line Ramzi did in 2008.
Or the thinking was also that he’d retire right away like Flojo and get away with it.
But he went on to get 2 Silvers in 2016 (1500 and 800) and a 1500 Silver in. 2019.
Plus he ran 3:28.
He stuck around longer than we thought a d may be back next year.
His handlers figured they can't fool the doping inspectors this time. He faked injury before. This guy is a POS.

He was past it when he was banned. The cheater is still proclaiming his innocence. On social media if not legally!

Yes, forgotten in the Kiprop saga is that he was pretty much washed up by 2017 and had been overtaken by the new cohort of Kenyans.
The old guard (Makhloufi, Willis, Kiprop, Iguider) is done. I'd imagine Souleiman is as well unless he's found a wonder-drug.
RIP: D3 All-American Frank Csorba - who ran 13:56 in March - dead
RENATO can you talk about the preparation of Emile Cairess 2:06
