I've worn so many. I tend to gravitate towards the 6 inch rather than 8 inch boots. I like the soft soles the best (thorogood is prob the most popular manufacturer) but they are toast in 6 months. No steel toes for me.
Irish settlers made by Red Wings was my go to work boots. Super comfortable and the break in period is way lesser than the main red wings brand. I’ve tried Thorogoods and they gave me instant PF so I switched back to Irish settlers. I’ve tried wolverines as well pretty similar to Irish settlers as well and they tend to be $40 cheaper. These brand are in the $150+ range, general speaking the more expensive a boot is the more comfortable, supportive and longer lasting it’s going to be. As a runner I wouldn’t recommend skimping out on your work boots and buying $60 ones you’ll get injured pretty easily.
