What, inactivated virus.....there are numerous ones already out there. Novavax has completed its trials with success nd should be helped to get production up and out asap. Peptide based vaccines have been in heavy use for decades; it is a trusted technology with a good record. The polio situation was 60 years ago ; come on.....scare monger a little. There is no reason they cannot get Sinovac or something similar to the US market asap and no reason to not usher the Novavax or another peptide based vaccine more quickly. Both tech have decades of safety data to back then up, trials data and use globally. This is the best and easiest option to improve vaccination rates the USA government should consider.
Why should we push to accelerate Sinovac or something similar or peptide or the not yet ready Novavax? — we already have three vaccines approved in the US going bad on the shelves.
If the issue is mistrust, we should address those that are falsely fuelling that mistrust, either for political gain or for ratings, or simply to cause chaos.
You say the real issue is fear of the new “untested” technologies, but then say that is only worth an extra 10%, which represents about 1/10th of the unvaccinated.
Why do people fear the new technologies, which are in fact not so new, and not so untested, but decades in the making?
It is because they are not listening to the scientists, but rather opinion hosts, social media, and anonymous posters.
