A little bitter? I think that it is always exciting to have the four year build up to the Olympics. Someone right now is learning their sport and training to be the best. They will be looking to make their high school team and hopefully win a state championship. They will go college and maybe win a NCAA competition and even win international championships the Diamond League Championships, World Championships, Pan American games, or World Major race. the next three years. They will hope to make the podium at the Olympic Trials so they be selected as a Olympic athlete. They will be training their bodies to its absolute fitness, so they show up and perform at their best against people from around the world who have done the same thing.
Yeah, being an Olympic athlete is meaningless! Why have dreams to the best in your activity, whether in high school, your county, your state, your region, your country, your continent, and the world? Who would want beat to the best?
The Olympics are are awesome, spectators or not! Don’t steal people’s dreams just because you apparently down have any dreams! Lack of spectators does not diminish athlete’s expertise, hard work, sacrifice of many normal things (junk food, parties, hanging out with friends, late nights and sleeping in), performance at a extremely high level under the highest pressure. The Olympics are not a farce! They are just a dream and don’t sell people’s dreams as nothing because you don’t have any goals!
