At the eve of the Olympics, this is a good time to reflect.
Perhaps we could post the names here. We do not have to limit to Track and Field.

.... well we lost a lot of NBA, NCAA, MLB, NFL and NHL players as well right. I can't remember their names but a few of those on here who are following the pro-vaccine story can surely list them. Didn't Tom Hanks and his wife succumb to the virus early on? This virus ran rampant through the healthy population.
Yes.
The list of names of well known people we have lost is quite lengthy. Especially when you include only those who were not already deathly ill.

No, seriously. Limit it to Olympic hopefuls.
…and when I say “lost”, I don’t mean like that Danish pole vaulter who tested positive and now can’t go to the Olympics. I mean “passed away”.
Sad that nobody wants to honour the athletes that we lost to COVID in the past 18 months
Surely there has to be an athlete from Belarus or Sweden…
Peru?
Really?
0?
Probably none given the age demographic.
But for those of us who have to exist in the real world, we remember our heroes and always back the blue.

Zero on the entire planet? That seems unlikely. If so, holding the Olympics would be easy.
HazMat suits for officials and athletes could roam freely in the stadium.
Healthy athletes can be vectors of transmission.

Ya, that’s why officials would need the hazmat suits.

In other words, cannot name a single known athlete who died from Covid after 17 months of this "pandemic".

'Scam'demic
Those who have Covid and recover very rarely get it again and, the few who do, have very mild symptoms.
Natural immunity works.
Vaccines?

It's quite likely you wouldn't be treating the pandemic so jokingly if anyone close to you had died as a result of contracting the virus. I've lost two friends. One at 44 yrs old, the other at 57. More than 700,000 Americans have died. If you can't be respectful of them and their survivors, just try not to be a Dick.
