1) If that were the choice you'd be right. The reality is that a particular USAian declining the opportunity to be vaccinated doesn't simply translate to an additional opportunity for the world's elderly because the logistics are simply not there.
2) While young healthy people are not at particular risk for serious outcomes, they are potential vectors for spreading infection. Much more so if those persons are coming in contact with persons from other regions. The magnitude of this potential is greatly decreased by vaccination.
3) There is allegedly no positive confirmation that Hocker actually tested positive for COVID, that is, his alleged acquired immunity is speculative.
