We all know that most elite runners can pretty much run in any type of shoe. Hell as we have seen in the past, barefoot runners can compete with those who have top of the line running shoes.
That being said. Will On’s drive willingness to provide sponsorships to athletes ultimately lead to subpar performances due to their completely ridiculous running shoes. I know there are outlier athletes that can use On shoes. But compared to all other brands I.e. Adidas, New Balance, even puma and hoka. Their (On’s) shoes are not as universally usable. Watching Jake Riley sound like he’s running on cardboard or imagining Joe Klecker getting in easy miles on the Cloudswift just gives me a headache. Thoughts?
TL;DR Will On’s willingness to sponsor athletes ultimately hurt athlete performance because their shoes are crap?
