I can’t stand this girl because she’s a cardi b wanna be dumba$$.
And conversely I agree with this - especially the first part. I don't think she wanted to run in Tokyo, but I believe the reason is she has incredible anxiety around the pressure and expectation of being the favorite for the gold. I think it's 100% a mental health issue.
I think she smokes weed - a lot of it and frequently, and I think she does so to deal with these anxieties and fears. I actually believe this is a sad story with multiple layers - that instead of feeling like she can discuss her insecurities and fears, that she has to put on a façade of strength and tough exterior. The hair, the nails - the whole package, it just reeks of someone uncomfortable with the situation they find themselves in.
She knew exactly what she was doing and what was going to happen in Eugene - she even said so herself. But again, instead of being honest about what is going on she cooks up a story that is on the surface believable and pulls enough emotional levers that it's very hard to question it in the current social climate (because can you imagine being the person that asks the questions such as "what was your mothers name, who was the reporter, who did they work for and how did they come across this knowledge before you if your mother meant so much to you?) - yeah good luck with that.
Classic self sabotage and inadvertently it's all worked out for her ten-fold. I mean even down to the fact that publicly she's the "worlds fastest woman" a title typically reserved for the Olympic Champion in the Olympic year - and she never had to put herself through one sleepless night about it.
