Flint - The winner of the 26th Annual Crim 10 mile race was Kenyans Simon Rono in 47:13. The women's winner was Kenyans Catherine Ndereba, Marathon World Record holder, in 52:09 (second fastest). This was Catherine's sixth Crim victory and fifth in a row.
In the Men's race Rono was followed by Benjamin Kosgei (47:21), William Kiptum (47:29), Gabriel Muchiri (47:32), Gilbert Koech (47:34) and Christopher Cheboiboch (47:34). The first American and Michigan runner was Mason's Kyle Baker, 7th overall, in 47:55. The second American and Michigan runner was Hanson's Richie Brinker 49:21.
Ndereba was followed by Morocco's Asme Leghzaoui in 52:21. Grand Rapids Besty Frens, 10th overall, was the top Michigan finisher in 59:18. The second Michigan finisher in 11th place was Mari Chandler in 59:33.
The Master male and female winners were Andrew Masai in 49:33 and the Ukraine's Tatyana Pozdynyakova in 58:10. In the wheelchair division Georgia's Krige Schabort won in 39:05.
