You don't have to support BLM to admit that this is just plain stupid.
If you can lower the blind political allegiance for half a second that is.......you may not have that ability.
Yes, obviously. They can't say they oppose anti-racism so have to use a new word.
Look at how easily they "banned" CRT in schools. They were deliberately vague so schools no longer feel comfortable teaching anything about race
what a piece of crap, biased article.
And this is what is wrong with our country today.
"Will lie, cheat,steal" ; sounds like our former Mob Boss in Chief !
A modern day book burning.
Texas government trying to prove they aren’t racist by banning the teaching of civil rights and making laws that will reduce minority voting.
Do you know how to read? Not banned. Just not mandatory curriculum. Trig is not mandatory either. Engineering is not mandatory. Woodworking is not mandatory. Everything can't be mandatory or every kid would have to take the identical classes.

Michael Bloomberg, former financial market trader and fintech entrepreneur who got rich from capitalism and is heavily invested in equity markets is left-wing?
You know 'leftists' usually subscribe to non-market alternatives and generally criticize Wall Street, right?

Scared, weak, racist white Senators in Texas don't even want any bit of their past and present racism even discussed on any level and think that passing a BS law will erase their evil racist past and their racist present.
What do they actually think will happen in the next 25 years when whites are less than 50% of the population? They better hope and pray that people of color don't treat them like they have done us for the last 500 years.
This is from the BS bill.
It would remove more than two dozen teaching requirements from a new law (H.B 3979) that bars the teaching of critical race theory, an academic framework exploring racism’s shaping of the country.
That law included a list of historic figures, events and documents required for inclusion in social studies classes. The Senate-passed bill would remove most mentions of people of color and women from those requirements, along with a requirement that students be taught about the history of white supremacy and “the ways in which it is morally wrong.”
The measure also would bar the teaching of the 1619 Project— a New York Times initiative exploring U.S. history starting at the date enslaved people arrived in the English colonies.
Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick (R), who presides over the Senate, said in a statement after the vote that “Senate Bill 3 will make certain that critical race philosophies including the debunked 1619 founding myth, are removed from our school curriculums statewide.”
When whites become the minority, there will be no country. The majority supports the minority today.
You know most Latinos don't like blacks, right? And Asians and Indians for that matter. And Arabs. So your little revenge racist coalition of everybody not considered Caucasian will probably never get off the ground?
I thought conservatives were against cancel culture. What are they so afraid of?
https://news.yahoo.com/texas-senate-bill-end-classroom-200640544.html
They are. That is why they aren't prohibiting these things from being taught. Forcing something to be taught is cancel culture because it forces only one type of teaching.

Clearly my post went right over your head.
For one thing you clearly don’t understand the new bill.
And nowhere did I support them removing civil rights from the required curriculum. I just pointed out how the dems hate MLK but then try and use him as a lightning rod when it helps them.
MLK is needed more now then ever. But idiots on the left want to throw around identity politics instead. I think it is you who needs to open their eyes.

Because I am always skeptical of the leftist media I decided to actually read the bill. Here it is for anyone who is curious about what it actually says, not a long read.
To debunk some of the falsehoods being perpetuated. It does not take MLK or Susan B Anthony out of the curriculum. It specifically requires certain things to be included; declaration of Independence, Constitution, Civil Rights act, etc. All very important things that should not be controversial, but also states the curriculum for civics is not limited to those things specifically listed.
Yes, it does ban the 1619 project which is an unfactual opinion piece that has no place in schools. As well as banning teaching that anyone is superior or inferior based on race, gender, sexual orientation, etc. If you just read the media's take on these things you get a completely false narrative of what is included, at times based on misdirection, at others total lies.

That’s a misleading title.
The law prohibits the teaching of civil rights through the lens of “critical race theory”.
However, the race baiters on the left shouldn’t be shocked by this. You can only use race and racism as a hammer to beat over the head of your opponents before the opposing side begins to fight back.
Over the past year or so we’ve seen BLM and their kin go on and on about how racist this country is and how if you don’t actively agree with this sentiment (“anti racism”) you yourself are actually racist-they also tore down statues and changed the name of various schools to be less “problematic”. Now those same race baiters are angry the same levers and cultural tools they have been are now being used against them. It’s hard to have sympathy.

But they haven't told us what that means. So teachers won't teach anything about race and race relations in case the school is accused of teaching prohibited topics.
And that was the point of the whole CRT moral panic.

Well they actually go into a bit of detail in the actual bill
Here’s a segment from the actual piece of legislation in question-
(4) a teacher, administrator, or other employee of a
state agency, school district, or open-enrollment charter school
may not:
(A) require or make part of a course inculcation
in the concept that:
(i) one race or sex is inherently superior
to another race or sex;
(ii) an individual, by virtue of the
individual's race or sex, is inherently racist, sexist, or
oppressive, whether consciously or unconsciously;
(iii) an individual should be discriminated
against or receive adverse treatment solely or partly because of
the individual's race or sex;
(iv) an individual's moral character,
standing, or worth is necessarily determined by the individual's
race or sex;
(v) an individual, by virtue of the
individual's race or sex, bears responsibility for actions
committed in the past by other members of the same race or sex;
(vi) an individual should feel discomfort,
guilt, anguish, or any other form of psychological distress on
account of the individual's race or sex;
(vii) meritocracy or traits such as a hard
work ethic are racist or sexist or were created by members of a
particular race to oppress members of another race;
(viii) the advent of slavery in the
territory that is now the United States constituted the true
founding of the United States; or
(ix) with respect to their relationship to
American values, slavery and racism are anything other than
deviations from, betrayals of, or failures to live up to the
authentic founding principles of the United States, which include
liberty and equality
Everything I read in the bill seeks very reasonable. You can read the entire piece of legislation below.
