BTW where are you getting those long range temps? The humidity is also important.
Looks like a typhoon is coming which will change everything, maybe.
Sheesh two weeks feels like forever but it's amazing we even got here finally.

Do you remember Boston 2018? High 30s/low 40s/crazy wind/rain. Galen was dressed like a bandit to start the race and quit early on. He was passed by thousands of hobby joggers who slog through winter training miles above the mason dixon line who know what running in that weather is about.
If a temperature extreme bothers him, it's not the high end. Age is his main enemy now.
Yeah that and the fact that he's slow compared to the fastest in the world.

Rupp has a chance to win gold because these days most of the top marathoners are not competing at Olympics.

It sure looks like the day of the marathon is likely to have something like a high of 85 and a low of 77. These are long range forecasts BUT Galen is a bigger guy for a world class marathoner and the heat will take its toll on him. He usually runs fairly smart but he is also lacking his former world class track ability. This looks like a recipe for disaster as Galen ends his Olympic career with an epic failure, maybe a 12th place 2:15.
The Troothsayer would just like to add that nothing has changed his fertile mind regarding Galen’s chances. This is shaping up to be a disaster of epic proportions. Possibly the weakest US Marathon threesome in memory.

Are you serious? Have you seen who is running this?

Must be talking about Titus Ekiru and Bekele. Only two who could mix it with the two who if one doesn't win then the other does [Kipchoge v Lawrence Cherono], whatever the conditions.

Thanks for the update that you're still a basement-dwelling virgin.

Your reading comprehension leaves much to be desired.

Quite right. One might call my reading comprehension a "disaster of epic proportions"

Amazing how the naysayer's have been naysaying Galen forever, but he worked his azz off and brought home multiple Olympic medals. You naysayers should STFU and just be glad he gave us so many great moments to enjoy, even if he doesn't get another medal. He is still the best marathoner we have.

You are not very bright. Why are the intelligent always labeled naysayers? It must be nice to be so ignorant. If you want to give Galen a lifetime achievement medal, that is fine but he will get no other.

What a clown you are. You label yourself as"intelligent" when you posted ridiculous nonsense throughout this thread.

Maybe you should learn to respect someone like Galen who has given so much to the sport. Instead all you can post is negative garbage. He goes out there and gives his all, so what if he is past his prime.
Galen has had a wonderful running career. Whether he cheated or not is another question. Galen has tried hard. No doubt.
Well it looks as if the temperature will be about 75 degrees at the start and maybe 77 at the finish, with overcast skies and humidity about 90% at the start and maybe dropping slightly during the race. This does not seem to be a worst case scenario but hardly ideal either.

I love these OP prediction threads, they crack me up. You've got nothing to lose as you're unregistered, no big man reputation to live up to. Just move on with another handle.
If he does well, he got lucky. If he doesn't, see I told ya so. It's a win-win for ya, you just want to be right at one thing to pat yourself on the back. Is this REALLY want makes you happy in life? How can you be that insecure to look for affirmation to such an unhealthy level? You need help as the meaning of life has passed you by. I put you at 43 years old. Get a clue!
