Can't you just use your trail shoes on other surfaces? I've known people who did that and never seemed to have any problems. Conversely, I never really felt the need for a special shoe for trails.
Hoka Challengers can be used on both pretty well. Nike Trail Pegs (though they are clunky AF). Brooks Catamount
Was just about to say those first two, Hoka's ATR models (Challenger and Stinson) are designed for road-to-trail because their lugs aren't overly aggressive and from what I've heard the first Pegasus Trail feels natural on roads
