If Colby Alexander, who Hocker destroyed at the trials, ran 3:33… Hocker can at least run 3:30.
Is Colby Alexander now the fastest non-sponsored 1500m runner in the world?

And people on this board will tell you that the US is weak at the 1500m lol and Hocker is a 3:35 guy

Nah, gotta put up the umbers when it counts- not after. Good on him. Enjoyable guy.
I’d say Grice is the fastest non-sponsored 15 guy at the moment.

The US is weak compared to the other top countries. Results don’t lie. Has Hocker run under 3:35? No? So then he’s a 3:35 guy.

It really is not. The 4th and 8th guys at Trials ran 3:33 this year. Gold and 8th place in 2016, Silver and 4th in 2012. WC medals in 2011 and 2013. Sure Kenya is the best but I’ll take the USA vs basically anyone else. Please throw a country that hasn’t won a global medals in 25+ years up there

You’re an idiot.
Why did Grice even get dropped ?
The kid hasn’t had one completely healthy year EVER. Supposedly he’s only had a couple healthy months of training since last October. He’s just got a boatload of talent.

You’d have to ask Charlie what that situation entailed. It wouldn’t be proper for me to discuss that here.
That would have been 3:31 high if the starting line had been adjusted for the rail.

Hocker is by far and away the best middle distance runner in the world right now. It will be a major upset if he doesn't win gold.

Because he tried to join Peter Julien's group and UK athletics 'investigated it?' Who were his sponsors? Nike?

A country that hasn't produced a sub 3:30 runner in 36 years, and whose only two successes at a global championships in 110 years have been a Kenyan doper and a burrito eating Al Sal guy who got lucky, isn't number 2.
Norway, Scotland, and Australia are all ahead of the USA.
Doubt if Colby cares what country is #1 right now for milers.
His phone should be ringing tomorrow.

I hate this garbage about the "transitive property" that has come up on LRC. It simply doesn't work like that. Mo Farah was a 3:28 guy, I don't for a second think that overall, he was a better 1500m runner than Centro or would have beat him in a race that really mattered.
Hocker remains a 3:35 guy until he runs quicker. You can think he can run 3:30 but he needs to prove it. FWIW, I don't think he's anywhere near 3:30 right now, maybe after a couple of years on the circuit
And just to add, Alexander running 3:33 once proves nothing. He now has a solid PR but can he do that consistently? That's what matters. Cheruiyot and Ingebrigtsen are so dominant because they can produce a 3:30 at will. Take the results of the someone's last 3-5 races to see where they are really at, not one-off performances

Tell me what can Hocker do in the 3000m/5000m and higher distances and I will tell you where he can go.
Jim Ruyn is he were at his peak today can do 3:28:75 at his best.
Seems like many who left the all mighty Gags to form the new Empire TC group are really improving.
RIP: D3 All-American Frank Csorba - who ran 13:56 in March - dead
RENATO can you talk about the preparation of Emile Cairess 2:06
Rest in Peace Adrian Lehmann - 2:11 Swiss marathoner. Dies of heart attack.

Running for Bowerman Track Club used to be cool now its embarrassing
