She was close enough and it was a reasonable enough time. She does not appear strong enough to medal in a race that would appear to need 1:56 range for a chance.
But it is hard to know circumstances of the race, her training, how she peaks, etc. Maybe this is right where she wants to be.
She came back within a hour to pace her teammate in the mile, winning the event in 4:43.21.
A nice tune up with that mile after - she may not be in 1:55 shape in two weeks but 1:56 seems certainly fair. That will put her the mix the rest comes to positioning. It’s at least as good and probably better than the trials performance which is the right trend.
