That would've been tough to watch if they were a bunch of 14 year olds, this is truly pathetic by a bunch of nearly high performers who should be bordering on becoming adults.

They sack their coach and then try to say how hard it was on all of them and use it as an excuse for another average season
+1. That's all I took from it too.
That and the fact Schwartz knew Drew needed better training partners
Basically drew us living in a frat house and he needs to be living in Olympic training group. And coach told him that he needed to be with a different set of training partners and he choose loyalty to his frat. And his mom came in and saved the day. It will be interesting when people start to have issues with the coaching - can you complain when it’s your house owners mom?
Amused by how aggressively they're in denial on the 'drew needs better training partners' bit. Seems pretty transparent from the outside, and schwartz understood it as well from what's mentioned. The indignant tone when they bring it up is adorable. Not-so-quietly repping this place in the process, which is ironic and self-defeating.
nobody cares
is anyone in the group besides Sam faster than Drew was 5 years ago as a hs senior?
Sam is low key Machiavellian with his "get on the same page" and "unity" talk prior to firing Schwartz. For him/them, its far easier to fire the old guy who doesn't live with them than it is to cut dead weight friends who are going nowhere yet live among them. If they wanted to keep all the guys around, it should have split up into a top tier with Drew, Sam, Reed, Jordan, and maybe Connor (i.e. guys who have qualified for USA Outdoors or Worlds/Olympics) and a second tier with the rest and maybe meet up for Sunday runs collectively and fill out a roster for Club XC. That's what got both the scrubs and some of the upper tier guys banged up, running over their head too much whether in workouts or on recovery days. Also not a great endorsement of Whoop that they're getting the recovery metrics and still so injured across the board.

How did this unprofessional manchild ever have a legitimate coaching job. Who hired him after watching him show up to practices in slides?!
Yeah, they blow him up in video when he literally jumps onto Joey Cheese after the guy sets a 1 second PR. What serious, truly responsible coach does that, is he trying to injure Joey? Be excited, sure, but first be a f*cking grown up.
Let’s get real, the get everyone on the same page meeting was more of, “this is a what we are doing.” Everyone else was just along for the ride, like it or not.
Precisely. It's just a show for the cameras.
I like how they do all this social media stuff but complain when people ask questions or want to know what’s going on with the club.
They become more unlikable each piece of content they put out.
Might be me not being around pro distance runners in a minute but some of these Tinman guys look like they're redlining in pursuit of leanness.
Shouldn't they focus on training instead of doing stupid fake alpha bro videos?
The whole thing will be over by March. Drew won't be in any training group.

+1.... people are finally realizing how genuinely dumb these guys are and how hard they try not to be

Honestly this goes back to the hype Solinsky got after running 26:59. They’re trying to create a similar excitement. It’s pathetic.
I don’t understand something: Drew claims they figured “it” out before Schwartz moved up there. So who is responsible for their training/injuries?
And for being titled “The Split” they didn’t do a very good job addressing people’s main complaints.
He loves talking about how he's 20 and loves living the dream--living in a house he bought with his friends. The series might not be for everyone but it's fascinating watching.

It's Jerry Springer for running fans.
All I know is I will put up $100 to help crowdfund an xc race with them versus Newbury Park. Come on Chavez and Merber, let’s do this!
