I lived in DC for three years. Your Accuweather app is wrong. Dew point in DC is 75 right now according to the National Weather Service. 80 DP is rare.
Our Destin numbers are essentially the same, off by only a degree or two and a percent or two for humidity. Look right now for DC though and you’ll see this:
Dew Point: 80
Real Feel: 106
You claim a dew point of 80 is massively rare…it’s literally that right now in DC (3:04pm EST). I’m pulling these numbers straight off the Accuweather App. As someone who’s lived and run in DC, I can attest that it’s unimaginable to insufferable in the summer. It’s one big swamp. You’ll break a sweat just walking across the street.
80 dew point is insanely humid and it rarely reaches that without raining or thunderstorming. Those conditions would be a death march fora run. I like to add the temp and dewpoint together with 120 being the start of less than ideal marathon or long race conditions and 140 being where running starts becoming miserable. I'd typically see 160s in the summer on the east coast, 170s man that would suck.
