Where is it stated that he has 2 of them before workouts? I doubt it. Red Bull sponsors plenty of endurance athletes. It's handed out in races. Caffeine does help performance. Not advocating for it but maybe balance your hate of TAS with someone who is sponsored plugging their sponsor when they prolly don't religiously use the product.

What in the hell? Why aren't his coaches teaching him proper nutrition?
I thought he was joking until I saw a whole box on his table... Oof.
Thoughts or insights?
Not really surprising.. he is known for doing dumb stuff. I mean he caught covid. how dumb do you have to be?
Jakob Ingebrigtsen drinks redbull before every race and big workout since he's 12, we even saw a clip of Gjert stopping at the Gas station just before a race to buy him redbull in 2018 (yeah the year he ran 3:31). Now he doesn't drink redbull anymore because he got a sponsorship contract with a new Norwegian energy drink brand, but he still drinks energy drink before every race and workout (even more than before) . So I guess you all, guys, should also tell him he's dumb and could be faster.

he looks like an emaciated distance runner but he can't run more than 60 miles a week without breaking down and he thinks hes an 800m runner just because he ran 49 point in high school but hasn't run faster since
the question is the reason he isnt running 47/144 now because it isnt his event or cause he didnt hit the weight room and add 5lbs of muscle. Maybe it is the delusion that he can run XC is what did him in. Obviously a lot depends on if his 200m is closer to 22 or 24.....
I know most of us are slugs for whom mileage is the answer. He might be one of the guys for whom 50-60mpw with intensity works better. Go read the Jim Spivey logs for an example of a guy for whatever reason didnt do a ton of mileage but ran fast.

Nothing wrong with downing a couple of bulls before a workout. For those talking about how skinny and frail he looks, I agree. Look at him side by side, next to the newest Beasts member:

Looks like he's pushing his belly out a little and the other runner is flexing his abs(I don't know why their doing this, probably think it's funny?). But if he isn't under 15% body fat(and around sub 10% when peaking), he should definitely clean up his diet. As far as sugar and caffeine. If he's running enough and the rest of his diet is clean. It shouldn't hurt him too much. There's been other professional runners who drink tons of coffee everyday and Kenyans put a lot of sugar in their tea.
IMO that's too much sugar to have all the time, but no worse than a normal soda. The caffeine is a joke -- most energy drinks have less than a coffee. Although why people refuse to buy caffeine pills when that's all you want anyway is beyond me. They're like $5 for 100 and don't have a bunch of questionable supplements thrown in.
Honestly from a health standpoint, you're probably better off drinking red bull than a sports drink. Gatorade etc. are some of the most acidic things you can drink and will ruin your teeth.
I used to drink a mountain dew for breakfast before cross country practice in college.

That's like asking why people drink beer or wine when they could buy 100% alcohol to get drunk more cost-effectively. Or asking why people have sexual intercourse to produce pregnancy when there is medical technology that works better to produce the same result.
Yeah, chugging energy drinks is just like having sex.
I mean, drinking coffee is enojyable. People like the taste, even of decaf.
