i'm about to start my second season of cross country and i never got spikes last year. i had no idea they were even used for xc until i joined the team. but anyways.... it's my second time around and i really want some good race shoes that i can also use for track and field (1600 and 3200) in the spring because i really can't afford multiple pairs. i did some research and i'm thinking that waffles are my best bet. most of the courses that i do won't be particularly treacherous at all unless there's rain beforehand or during, which i navigated ok last season in my asics GT-1000, just the shoes i had before i started running regularly. i tend to strike on my heels but would like to change this because i read in my research that it makes you faster. but i don't think i need metal spikes because the terrain really isn't bad at all and would be better for my stride. advice? shoe recommendations? anything?
